It doesn't clean quite as well as the mainstream, more toxic stuff, so I've found that you have to soak your dirtiest clothes for about 10 minutes before turning on the wash cycle. I make my own soap for the warm/hot water loads, and I use this for loads using cold water. It cleans just as well as the store brand I was using (Purex) and is easier on the environment and our clothes. It does not leave a residue, although I do have softened water. When I take the clothes out of the dryer (no need for softeners, as there are soy softeners in the product), my clothes just smell clean. Nothing artificial. The built-in fabric softener softens nominally and it does *not* prevent static cling! After drying, it's hard to smell the lavender fragrance at all. I'd say it's a great laundry detergent, but you'll need a separate fabric softener (especially in winter!). |
