This review is from: Dr Bronners Magic Pure-Castile Soap Organic Baby Mild 8 oz (Health and Beauty) a great soap but I'm a bit confused by all of the cluttered, crazy religious mumbo-jumbo on the label, not sure why soap needs to advertise the 'moral ABC that unites all mankind' and the 'second coming of gods law'.. but that aside - a WONDERFUL soap, very gentle, leaves a fresh scent, isn't tested on animals and is concentrated so you get a lot out of the small bottle. just utterly creeped out by the label. Dr. Bronner's is an excellent soap to use for cloth wipes. It is mild and does not irritate my little one's sensitive bum. Just mix a TB of apricot oil, a cup of water, and a TB of Dr. Bronner's in a spray bottle, and you're good to go! That's why I didn't give it 5 stars. It doesn't dissolve well in cold water wash (we have soft water). I run warm water, add detergent and swish before adding the clothes. As this is an extra step, I think I prefer the liquid Free Clear product better. It does seem to be Allergen free as I have two folks in my home with sensitive skin and allergies and they have had no detergent reaction to their skin. This review is from: All Powder Laundry Detergent, Fresh Rain, 40-Load Box (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty) I have been using the All detergent for the past two weeks before reviewing it; I purchased it based upon the other review, which indicated that stains were lifted out and not much fragrance was left in clothes. Both of these observations are true in my experience as well. I garden for a hobby, and my clothes are often very, very dirty. This product will get your clothes clean. I don't particularly want any fragrance in my clothes, so I am happy that there isn't a residual smell. I have also tried the product with cold water, and it will dissolve in cold washes. Finally, if you purchase this product when Amazon runs a coupon special (see the Sales & Special Offers section), plus get super saver shipping, the per washload cost runs around 9 cents a load, which is pretty good. My husband's work-out clothes tend to get "funky" after awhile, even when they are clean, right out of the dryer. I am referring to the synthetic, high-tech materials, especially anything that is "wicking". This product really does the trick. Now I use it on any fleece clothing as well. Sometimes the boys' PJs start to smell like unwashed children and one quick wash with an unbelievably small amount of this totally rids them of all smells, without any cover-up scents! The test subject was a black and white Arcteryx 3-layer gore tex shell that I used for skiing last season. Unfortunately, one of the old lifts at my home ski resort spews oil as the temperature warms from the lift towers. Not good for any shell much less a white one! To pre-treat the dried oil stains I rubbed on the sport wash with a damp cloth at full strength and was amazed to see the stains readily lift out, wow. Into the front load washing machine with an oz of Sport Wash and 40 minutes later out came a jacket that looked nearly as good as new (I had missed pre-treating a couple of small oil stains and I could detect some smudging, but overall I was amazed with the performance of this product when compared to using dawn and Tech Wash the season before. It was not easy finding something that was fragrance-free, perfume-free, dye-free, uv-brighteners-free, and fabric softener-free. It was also not easy finding something that wouldn't leave residue behind but that also would not leave stink behind! This cleans well (and using a front-loading washer it only takes about a 1/4 of the capful for a load) AND keeps my son's dipes breathing like they should, wicking where they should, and repelling where they should -- awesome! The added bonus is that using it saved a white cotton blouse I wore to a job interview last summer (in Texas, mind you) where the a/c was broken. Needless to say, nothing got out that sweat stain or stink until I used Sport Wash on it and dried it out in the sun. I can wear it again!
