We switched from baby laundry soap to this after the youngest turned 1 and have been very happy. My boys are very active, and the grass stains, dirt/mud, and spilled food all come out just fine - even chocolate! I do sometimes use spray on a tough stain, but I'd do that with any other laundry soap. Then I had kids. Kids stain everything. I've been using Tide (it was on sale), and most of the kids' stuff came out stain-free, even without pretreating. With this detergent, it seems like I'm washing with just water. With this detergent, I've tried washing in hot, with OxyClean, with the Tide Stain remover booster backs, with pretreater, with water softener, but nothing has helped. EVERY single stain still remains. I hate this stuff. I'm going back to Tide, despite the fact that it's way more expensive. Who cares if detergent is cheap, if it doesn't get your clothes clean? Now I have to figure out if there is any other use for this stuff, since I don't want to be wasteful and just throw it away. The leading brands that have "scents" cause my temperature to jolt upwards and my skin to rise into itchy, burning hives. This type of Arm and Hammer detergent is free of both perfume and dye. I have had no skin irritations since I have started using this product, and thankfully, it is cheaper than most other brands. Despite being dermatologist tested, I have always put my washer on the "double rinse" setting, just to be extra cautious. However, now that I am living in college dorms, the washing machines provided do not have extra rinse options. This past weekend, for the first time, I used the university machines, and to my relief, I have had no unpleasant occurrences with my washed clothing.
