(Texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Downy Automatic Dispenser (Health and Beauty) I love the Downy Ball, but I use it way beyond Downy. You can put any fab softener in it, but I have also used febreze straight from a refill bottle so I could infuse a load of bedding with a nice dose of scent. When you use these products, the ball seems to empty better if you dilute them. Simply add the product to the fill line, then fill the rest up with water coming out of the washing machine, plug it up, and shake it a little. Simple dimple!These days, the hippy dippy in me is stirred to action more and I have fallen in love with a lot more natural products. I use Arm and Hammer detergent most times, if not, I add baking soda to the wash load. And I put white vinegar in the downy ball for the rinse cycle. This is a water and fabric softener, and it helps rinse away any gritty residue from the baking soda. And it makes laundry smell so very fresh and sweet.
